2. Reading Of Mice and Men 

a. Read Of Mice and Men pgs. 51-60
b. Open your reading log and do an entry for today's reading. Remember to do a summary and response.
c. Be ready to discuss today's reading and your answer to last class's reading question with the class.

4. Vocabulary

a. Discuss 21-30 words on the list.
b. Share some of the sentences the students have written.
c. Write sentences for words 31-40. You should have sentences for 1-40 now. 
d. Study the vocabulary words... take the remaining time in class to study the vocabulary words


5. Reminder: Turn in Acceptable Use Policy

a. Those that have not turned in their Acceptable Use Policy to the library need to to that ASAP.


6. Homework/Assignments

a. Complete a reading log entry for Of Mice and Men pgs. 51-60
b. Write sentences for words 31-40. You should now have sentences for 1-40. We will submit the sentences for 1-40 next class.
c. Read Home Reading Book daily until finished

1. Grammar Review

a. Submit your Eight Parts of Speech Practice Sheet #2 into the form. But... Remember to open the document in your google drive > click the share button > copy the URL address > then open the form below and paste the URL into the form where directed


b. Class discussion, correction, and review.

2. Reading Of Mice and Men 

a. Read Of Mice and Men pgs. 41-50
b. Open your reading log and do an entry for today's reading. Remember to do a summary and response.
c. Also, in your log, answer the following question in a complete paragraph:
     We have been discussing George and Lennie's friendship. It is clear that it is not perfect, but there is a real bond there between the two. The question I want you to respond to is this: 
                                 How far would you go for a friend?
d. Be ready to discuss today's reading and your answer to this question with the class.

3. Honor Home Reading List 

a. If you have not filled out the selection form identifying the book you have chosen for September, you need to do it now. 

c. This will be the book I will give an oral exam on at the end of September. You cannot change this selection, so buckle down and read through it.



4. Are you on the Acceptable use Policy Hit List...?

a. Mr. Christensen will tell you if you need to get that it. 
b. Get it in ASAP or lose your ability to use Chromebooks and do your work in class!

5. Vocabulary

a. Write sentences for 21-30 in your Vocabulary Sentences Document. You should now have 30 sentences.
d. Study the vocabulary words... Daily.



6. Homework/Assignments

a. Complete a reading log entry for Of Mice and Men pgs. 41-50
b. Choose a book for September Honors Home Reading Assignment... fill out the form for this book. This book must be read by the end of September.
c. Write sentences for Vocabulary 21-30. You should now have 30 sentences.

b. Open your reading log and do an entry for today's reading. Remember to do a summary and response.
c. Also, in your log, answer the following question in a complete paragraph:
     Why do you think John Steinbeck chose the title Of Mice and Men for this novel?
d. Be ready to discuss today's reading and your answer to this question with the class.


3. Eight Parts Practice Sheet #2

a. Open up the following "Eight Parts of Speech Practice Sheet #2" document:

b. Go to File > Make a Copy > and rename the document according to the following example:

4. Vocabulary

b. Take notes on your vocabulary list or create a new document in google drive and name it according to the following example:

c. Take notes on the first 20 words on the list.
d. Write sentences for 11-20 in your Vocabulary Sentences Document. You should now have 20 sentences.

5. Honor Home Reading List 

a. Have a book from the reading list chosen and found for the month of September by next class. 
b. When you have chosen the book, fill out the following form identifying the book.

a. Your vocabulary list for this year is linked on Mr. Christensen's website. You are responsible to start studying and using the first 40 words from this list. The link is given below:

c. Write a sentence for the first ten words listed on the vocabulary list. You need to make sure the words are used correctly. You may look up the words on the internet and find sentences that use these words. Then, you will need to write your own sentences using these words.
 
d. There is also a set of flash cards and study games to help you memorize this list. Use them to study and memorize these words.

e. There will be a quiz on the first ten words from the list at the beginning of next class.

The Steps:
     1. Create a new document in google drive and answer the following question in a complete and  
                well-written paragraph:
            What do you think are the benefits and possible problems of trying to go paperless?
     2. Once you have this paragraph completed. Name it in the following manner:
            Example: A2_AndersonJ_PaperlessResponseParagraph
     3. Drag and drop the completed paragraph document into your English 10 Folder.

5. Discuss and resolve concerns:

    a. We will work together to discuss and overcome problems and issues with going paperless.

     b. You must choose and find this book by Thursday of next week. I will record what book you have            chosen and you will be required to pass that book off by the end of September... no changing.

3. Introduction to the paper-less classroom:

The steps:
     1. Log into your google account
     2. Create a folder for this class that follows this format:
                    a. Name the folder with your class period_LastnameFirstInitial_English10 
                    b. Example: If my name was Jason Anderson, it would look like this ...                  
                                                     A2_AndersonJ_English10
     3. Share this folder with me. Here is how you do that:
                    a. First of all, get used to this saying... "If it isn't shared with me, it is not turned in..."
                    b. Click the share button in the top right corner of the document.
                    c. Share to my email: cody.christensen@ironmail.org 
                    d. Make sure you give me "editing" rights to this folder...


4. First Assignment:

The Steps:
     1. Create a new document in google drive and answer the following question in a complete and    
                well-written paragraph:
